SACRAMENTO — Omer Yurtseven scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Miami Heat to an 80-78 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in the California Classic Summer League on Tuesday at Golden 1 Center.

Yurtseven had a great performance, shooting 11-for-20 from the field, including 3-for-7 from long range, while hauling in 19 rebounds in 32 minutes of action. The Heat had four other players score in double-digits, as Dru Smith and D.J. Stewart Jr. added 11 points each. Marcus Garrett and Javonte Smart chipped in 10 points a piece.

The Heat opened the game with a 10-0 lead to start, but the Lakers brought it back to a five-point game heading into the second quarter. The Lakers kept the momentum going and rallied to a 49-46 lead by halftime. The score stayed tight the rest of the way and was all tied up at 78 with six seconds to go, when Yurtseven hit two free throws to seal the win.

Meanwhile, Devontae Cacok led the way for the Lakers with team highs of 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in 29 minutes. Austin Reaves also had a solid outing, scoring 11 points and adding six rebounds and three blocks.
