Magic Sign Johnson, Jones; Prepare for Camp

September 29, 2012 ORLANDO -- The Orlando Magic will hold their 2012 training camp at the Amway Center in Orlando, beginning Tuesday, October 2. In addition, the Magic have signed free agents Armon Johnson (#1, 6-3, 195, 2/23/89, Nevada) and DeQuan Jones (#20, 6-8, 221, 6/20/90, Miami-FL). The roster currently stands at 19 players (roster to follow). Practices will be held on the Magic practice court at the Amway Center twice per day from October 2-4 from 10 a.m. until approximately noon, then and again from 5 p.m. until approximately 7 p.m. All sessions are closed to the public. Media availability will be towards the end of each workout. Head Coach Jacque Vaughn will be available after each session, while players will be available following the morning workouts only. On October 5, the Magic will practice from 10 a.m. until approximately noon, then depart for their preseason opener against New Orleans in Mexico City. Orlando begins the preseason against the Hornets on Sunday, October 7 (2:30 p.m.). The Magic will host their preseason home opener at the Amway Center on Thursday, October 11 against Philadelphia.
