Honorable Mentions Avery Bradley – The Pistons hope Bradley is the defensive force they need in the backcourt to return to the postseason. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope – KCP might be L.A.’s best defender and 3-point shooter. By signing a one-year contract with the Lakers, Caldwell-Pope hopes to prove he is worth a max contract next summer. Gary Harris – Fettered by multiple injuries early in his career (groin and foot last year), Harris has the potential to have a breakout season. He shot 42 percent from beyond the arc in 2016-17 and scored 20 points or more in 12 games after the All-Star break. J.J. Redick – Hoping to help space the floor and provide much-needed veteran leadership in Philadelphia, Redick should be a good fit with the up-and-coming Sixers. He shot well over 40 percent from 3-point distance in each of the last three seasons. Eric Gordon – The reigning Sixth Man of the Year and 3-point shooting contest champion, Gordon looks rejuvenated in Houston and should benefit from having two A+ playmakers (James Harden and Chris Paul) on his side. Victor Oladipo – Playing in front of the fans that have adored him dating back to his college years, Oladipo has an opportunity to show he can be an elite scorer with the Pacers. Khris Middleton – Middleton bounced back nicely after his hamstring injury that sidelined him for the first 50 games last season. He shot 43 percent from downtown. Zach LaVine – There’s no word yet when LaVine will make his debut with the Bulls as he continues to recover from his ACL injury. He averaged nearly 19 points prior to the setback last season.
