Ranking Most Intriguing NBA Players 21 and Under
1 / 12OrlandoMagic.com’s Josh Cohen ranks the most intriguing players that are 21 years old or younger (as of Jan. 15, 2017). The assessment is based on what each player has done to this point of their careers and an overall projection of what each player can become as they continue to develop. Click through this gallery for details. Honorable Mentions: Brandon Ingram – He is starting to show flashes of what he can become. But, it was probably unfair to immediately compare him to Kevin Durant. Still, he has the potential to be a versatile scorer for many years. Jamal Murray – He, too, has shown flashes. He had a string of 20-plus point scoring performances in late November. D’Angelo Russell – He’s clearly still trying to figure it out. Some nights he looks crafty and smooth. Other nights, he looks too slow and careless. Emmanuel Mudiay – He isn’t having the sophomore season that some projected. He’s shooting just 37 percent from the field and averaging only 4.0 assists per game. Justise Winslow – He’s now out for the season with a major shoulder injury. He's been solid when he's been on the court. He’s a top-notch defender and fearless. Jaylen Brown – Many criticized the Celtics for taking Brown over guys like Dragan Bender and Kris Dunn. But so far, Brown has been more impressive than most of the guys taken after him. Jahlil Okafor - He doesn't play in four straight games and then returns and posts 26 points and nine rebounds (with Joel Embiid not playing). He seems way too talented to not have a more significant role on a team.
