Cohen 8-Ball: 2013 Redo Draft

Josh Cohen
Digital News Manager

#4 CHARLOTTE BOBCATS

Actual Pick: Cody Zeller

Redo Pick: Michael Carter-Williams

Cohen’s Analysis: Yes, the Bobcats already have Kemba Walker and he was playing extremely effectively before his recent ankle injury. But would it be possible for Walker to transition to a combo guard role? He doesn’t excel at facilitating for others – averaging just five assists – and his suspect passing leads to detrimental turnovers. Sure, he doesn’t have much length – just 6’1 – but he is a scoring machine and has similar traits to Allen Iverson, the most successful 6’0 scoring guard in NBA history.

Carter-Williams has been rather extraordinary in his rookie season, proving all his naysayers wrong. His suspect shooting has been drastically improved from college and his defensive awareness and persistence makes him a force on both ends of the floor.
