Kings DeMarcus Cousins Named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week

SACRAMENTO, CA – Sacramento Kings center DeMarcus Cousins was named NBA Western Conference Player of the Week after leading the Kings to a 3-0 record, averaging 25.0 points (.562 FG%) and 12.7 rebounds in 37.2 minutes per game.

Cousins recorded a double-double in all three wins for the Kings, highlighted, by a 35 point and 13 rebound performance in a 123-119 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, Jan. 7. He also registered a game-high 24 points (.562 FG%), 14 rebounds and six assists in a 103-83 triumph over the Orlando Magic on Friday, Jan. 10, followed by 16 points (.555 FG%) and 11 rebounds en route to a 124-80 win against the Cleveland Cavaliers last night at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.

Cousins has amassed 23 double-doubles on the season (18 of which are 20-point, 10-rebound efforts) and has logged a double-double in 10 consecutive games.

Through 35 games, the 6-foot-11 center is averaging 23.3 points and 11.5 rebounds, per game, joining Kevin Love and LaMarcus Aldridge as one of three players averaging 23 points and 11 rebounds in the NBA.
