A 'Nikname' is Born

Kings players over the years are no stranger to nicknames.

With an active online fanbase and a creative Color Commentator in Jerry Reynolds, names from Walt "The Wizard" Williams to the Jon Brockman's "The Brockness Monster" and Rudy Gay's "The Great Rudini" have seen national traction.

The latest in the long string of Kings nicknames came in probably the most unusual way.

While watching the Kings-Sixers game on Tuesday night, Twitter user Andrew Unterberger noticed something strange in the closed captioning.

Naturally, Kings fans ran with it and the story has now been featured everywhere from USA Today's FTW Blog to Yahoo!'s Ball Don't Lie Blog and Deadspin.

The "moment of divine nickname provenance," as Deadspin referred to it, made its way to the man himself following Wednesday's win in Phoenix.

Now, from this day forth, Nik Stauskas will forever be know as the man, the myth, Sauce Castillo.
