Kings Making New Memories in Classic Uniforms

The Kings and purple have been tied together for quite some time, but a throwback look has been a fun change of pace for Sacramento this season.

Swapping out the purple and black for the red, white, and blue uniforms - Sactown resurrected a vintage look with their Classic uniforms for the 2019-20 campaign.

The Kings originally donned this uniform starting back in the 1990-91 season and only enlisted them through 1993-94. Longtime Kings radio broadcaster Gary Gerould was around to see the original iteration of the jerseys and weighed in on their return.

"For whatever reason, I think the colors look better now than when they were used at the time," said the G-Man. "I think it's a refreshing look."

Buddy Hield provided fans the first look at the updated version of the uniforms this past summer at the California Classic.

This retro aesthetic would not be fully complete without the throwback court to go with it.

"[The court] really makes the whole thing work," added Kings TV analyst Jerry Reynolds. "The older fans that have been here forever, it also brings back some good memories for them of fun times."

Sacramento's squad has also been enjoying playing in the red, white, and blue fits as the team has now logged a 2-0 record thus far with the Classic uniforms.

The next two home contests for the Kings will also feature the Classic look as they look to stay on a roll with their new old-fashioned appearance.
