Caron Receives Teammate of the Year Praise

Recognizing players who play with selflessness and continually embody leadership, the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year award is awarded to players based on votes from fellow NBA players. Kings forward Caron Butler has been revered as a great teammate throughout his career, and continued to impress in that regard with Sacramento during the 2015-16 season.

“You just try to be an asset to your organization and to your teammates as much as you possibly can,” said Butler. Despite appearing in just 17 games during the season, Tuff Juice often inspired his teammates. “Caron (Butler) talked to me, told me to just stay aggressive and shots were going to fall. That’s what I did, and luckily they fell,” said DeMarcus Cousins following a win over Brooklyn in November.

No. 31’s veteran leadership netted him 164 votes across the League, ranking him fifth in total points.
