(CLEVELAND, OH) - The Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday that they will induct the Class of 2021 featuring two former Cavaliers, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Larry Nance Sr., as well as PGA Professional Ben Curtis and the late Les Levine. This is the first time since 2019 that the Great Sports Hall of Fame will introduce a new class, and the quartet will be featured at a ceremony on Tuesday, October 19 at Key Tower's Cleveland Marriott Downtown.

In addition, the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame will honor Honorary Chairman Jack Herrick, who has led the organization for over 25 years.

Ilgauskas was drafted by the Cavaliers as the 20th overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft and went on to play 12 seasons for the Wine and Gold, averaging 13.8 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks over a then-team record 771 games played. The 7-3 center from Lithuania was twice an NBA All-Star (2003, 2005), a member of Cleveland's back-to-back 60-win teams (66-16 in 2008-09; 61-21 in 2009-10) and six playoff teams, including the franchise's first-ever NBA Finals appearance in 2007. Ilgauskas retired in 2011 and remains the Cavaliers' all-time leader in offensive rebounds (2,336) and blocked shots (1,269) while ranking second in points scored (10,616), total rebounds (5,904), games played (771) and minutes (21,820), third in free throws made (2,495), and defensive rebounds (3,568) and fourth in field goals made (4,045). Ilgauskas is the only player in franchise history to accumulate 10,000 points, 5,000 rebounds and 1,000 blocks over his career. Z's number 11 jersey is now retired and changes in the rafters at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

Nance played his final seven NBA seasons for the Cavaliers (1987-1994) after a six-year stint with the Phoenix Suns. Known as "Leapin' Larry" for the dunking prowess that made him the first-ever NBA Slam Dunk Champion in 1984 and his strong shot-blocking skills, Nance made three NBA All-Star teams (1985, 1989, 1993), including twice with Cleveland. He helped the Wine & Gold reach the postseason six times. Nance appeared in 433 regular season games with the Cavaliers, averaging 16.8 points on .530 shooting from the field, 8.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and a team-record 2.5 blocks. Among the franchise's all-time leaders, Nance ranks third in blocked shots (1,087) and field goal percentage (.530), ninth in points scored (7,257), rebounds (3,561) and field goals made (2,945), and 10th in minutes (14,966) and free throws made (1,364). The 6-10 forward remains the lone player in Cavaliers history to make the NBA All-Defensive Team three times (1989, 1992, 1993). Larry's number 22 jersey hangs in the rafters at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, while his son, Larry, Jr., now proudly wears 22 and continues the Nance legacy with the Cavaliers.

The celebration of the Cavaliers 50th Season has highlighted the history of the team and the men who laid the foundation for those who play today.  It has connected the past with the present.  On Thursday, the past and the present came together to help the community they have all called home.

Cavs rookie guard Darius Garland joined Legends Larry Nance, Sr., Jim Chones and Barry Clemens to provide a holiday meal for 200 Cleveland-area families.

The current and past players were at Thurgood Marshall Neighborhood Resource &amp; Recreation Center in Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood to hand out hams and side dishes to the families.  Each family received everything needed for a full holiday meal to take home with them.

The holiday dinner giveaway was part of the annual Cavaliers Season of Giving.

The wait is over!  The Cavaliers 2019-20 Nike Classic Edition jersey will be available for purchase beginning this Sunday, October 20th at a special launch event taking place at the Cavaliers Team Shop at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse from 6:30-8:00 p.m. This will be the first opportunity to own the popular black, orange and powder blue throwback jersey that is a nod to the uniform the team debuted 25 years ago.

Exclusively at the Team Shop, in addition to 2019-20 player jerseys, fans can customize the Classic jersey with a personalized name and number in-store and take it home that night!

During the Classic launch event festivities Larry Nance Sr. will be there to sign autographs from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cavs hype man Ahmaad Crump along with members of the PowerHouse Dance Team will also be meeting and greeting fans, and there will be chances to win great prizes.

Additionally, all fans who purchase a Classic Edition Jersey at the event will receive a game token to receive a prize including Cavs tickets, concert tickets, Cavs Team Shop gift cards and more!

ABOUT THE 2019-20 CLASSIC EDITION COLLECTION

The Cavs Classic Edition collection features adult and youth player jerseys (with the Goodyear Wingfoot patch), hoodies, tees and shorts.

A limited-edition 90s jersey &amp; lunchbox kit will be also be available for purchase at the event. The kit will include a Classic Edition jersey (player or customized) packaged in a retro lunchbox with pennant, socks and a Whammer pin.

The collection is limited in production and will only be available during the 2019-20 season.

For fans who can’t make the Classic Edition Launch event, the entire collection will be available at the Team Shop beginning on Monday, October 21st at 10:00 a.m. and anytime at  Cavs.com/Shop.

As part of the Cleveland Cavaliers 50th season and the grand opening of the completely transformed Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in 2019-20, the organization will introduce the new Wall of Honor program created to recognize deserving former members of the Cavaliers franchise. The Wall of Honor will serve as a very special tribute to individuals who have made significant contributions to the Cavaliers and played a distinguished, pivotal role in Cavaliers history.

The special inaugural class of the Wall of Honor will feature five members, who will be announced in the near future. Additional details about the related plans, events and activities surrounding the Wall of Honor program and induction will also be announced in the future as the upcoming season approaches.

“The Transformation of Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse created a great platform for us to develop a new vision for ways to further embrace our history and to tell the story of our 50 seasons.  The Wall of Honor is an important reflection of that and will grow over time as a core element of our desire to showcase and recognize the best of the best,” said Cavs CEO Len Komoroski.  “We look forward to celebrating and honoring these special individuals that have played such an integral and impactful role in our past, while helping shape who we are today.”

The Wall of Honor will reside prominently in the new North Atrium area of the FieldHouse’s main concourse. The large 12’x44’ wall will feature a mosaic of custom designed tiles that represent each honoree.

The inaugural Wall of Honor inductees have been selected by a diverse committee made up of longtime Cavaliers staff, broadcasters and Cavalier player legends, who provided decades of perspective and deep understanding and appreciation of the candidates and their respective roles and impact.

The honorees have been chosen based on the following criteria:

The Wall of Honor will also immediately include the eight individuals who have previously had their jerseys retired by the Cavaliers: Austin Carr, Brad Daugherty, Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Larry Nance Sr., Mark Price, Bobby “Bingo” Smith, Nate Thurmond and Joe Tait (Cavaliers Hall of Fame radio broadcaster).
