Tonight's Hot Player: Bradley Beal

Preview
The Wizards open the season on Tuesday night in Cleveland when they take on the Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena. The team will hope to begin the 2012-13 campaign as they finished the 2011-12 season, where they won the final six games of the year. Unfortunately, the injury bug has already hit as the Wizards will be playing without John Wall, Nene, and Kevin Seraphin. However, from what has been seen in the preseason, the healthy bodies are certainly capable of stepping up and getting the job done. The preseason was used to test a lot of different lineups, but now that the regular season has arrived we should expect to see more of a set rotation. The action kicks off at 7pm on CSN & 106.7 FM/1500 AM. Happy Opening Day!

Key Matchup

This will be the NBA debut for two of the top five picks in the 2012 NBA Draft. Bradley Beal (#3 overall) had an impressive preseason, averaging 11.3 points per game, and will be relied upon to be a key scorer for this Wizards team. On the other side, Dion Waiters (#4 overall) is an exciting rookie out of Syracuse and like Beal has the ability to shoot from long range and drive to the basket. Everyone remembers their first NBA game and these two rookies will be no different. It will be especially exciting if the two get to guard each other and go head-to-head in their first NBA game.
