Paul Reed was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 58th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and signed to a two-way contract ahead of the 2020-21 regular season. On March 26, 2021, he signed a standard NBA contract and has appeared in 133 games for the Sixers so far in his career.

As a two-way player, Reed built an impressive G League resume with the Delaware Blue Coats. He was named 2021 G League Most Valuable Player after averaging 22.3 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 1.9 steals, ranking third leaguewide in each of the statistical categories. In 2020-21, he led the Coats to the NBA G League Finals and finished the season with 334 total points and 177 total boards.

A native of Orlando, Florida, Reed often refers to his upbringing as coming “out the mud.” As a senior attending Wekive High School, he earned Central Florida Player of the Year honors from the Orlando Sentinel. In college, he played in 93 career games for the DePaul Blue Demons over three seasons and earned recognition as the 2019 Big East Most Improved Player, 2020 second team All-Big East, and a two-time member of the Big East All-Academic Team.
