De’Anthony Melton was acquired by Philadelphia on the night of the 2022 NBA Draft; the 76ers parted ways with the draft rights to the 23rd overall pick and veteran guard Danny Green.

The 46th overall pick in the 2018 Draft has since appeared in 312 games for the Phoenix Suns, Memphis Grizzlies, and now the Sixers. He started in a career-high 58 games for Philadelphia in 2022-23 and posted highs in steals (1.6 spg), which ranked sixth in the NBA. He also set career highs in three-point shots made (157), assists (197), steals (126) (second in the NBA), and blocks (41). In a December 9 game in Philadelphia as the Sixers hosted the Los Angeles Lakers, Melton had a career night, recording 33 points, 11 made field goals, eight threes, and seven steals, all personal bests.

In his time at the University of Southern California, Melton became the first Division I freshman to record at least 300 points, 150 rebounds, 100 assists, 60 steals, and 35 blocks since Dwyane Wade (Marquette) in 2001-02.

Melton is a native of North Hollywood, California, and was raised alongside five siblings. His interests outside of basketball include biking and playing piano, and he’s said that once his playing days are over, he’d be interested in pursuing a career in sports analysis.
