The Toronto Raptors announced their roster for the 2022-23 regular season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers at Scotiabank Arena on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. (TSN / TSN 1050). Toronto returns 12 players that finished last season with the team.
The upcoming season is the Raptors’ 28th in the NBA. This isthe 11th straight season and the 22nd time in team history Toronto has started the regular season at home. The Raptors sport a 16-11 record in season openers and are 17-10 in home openers. Toronto is 3-0 in season openers against the Cavaliers. The two clubs faced off to start the 2009-10 (W 101-91), 2011-12 (W 104-96) and 2018-19 (116-104) campaigns.
The opening night roster features eight international players, marking the second consecutive season the Raptors lead the league with players hailing from outside the United States, including three Canadian players – Dalano Banton (Toronto, Ont.), Khem Birch (Montreal, Que.) and Chris Boucher (Montreal, Que.).
