Postgame Quotes - January 20, 2013

(On guard play): "Brandon (Knight) had phenomenal energy. Starting right there, I thought our defense in the first quarter was tremendous, which led to transition opportunities. Brandon had some very good transition attacks, a good advance pass early; obviously he had that strong finish at the rim. At times he got a little bit sped up, in terms of with the turnovers, but his heart was in the right place, very good passion with it. And then Will (Bynum) got off to a quick start to the game early in the second playing pick and roll with Andre (Drummond). Then when they went to zone, we kind of, again, had some careless turnovers. But then Will (Bynum), in his second stint, played very, very well and helped us against their pressure and just settled us down a little bit. I think overall when you look at it, turnovers were obviously a big problem, our ability to get back was a problem, but the positives are that we held a good team under 40% (FG%), held them to 17 points in the fourth, we had six guys in double figures, and we had, I think, three guys with five or more assists. So there's some positives to build upon."

(On game): “We did a great job starting off and then we let them get back in it, but we had good resolve and got it back going.”

(On preparing for the game after London): “Just getting back in the gym after getting back from London and getting that jet lag out of there and get some shots up. We got some great workouts in with the coaches and guys prepared for this game.”

(On playing against Rajon Rondo): “Just making sure that I play my same game and get myself going. He (Rondo) was going to try to make everything tough for me and he was going to have the ball the entire game, so he’s going to be able to make some plays, some good passes and get his team going. He’s a great point guard; he’s an all-star for a reason. Just making sure to make it as tough as possible, and be competitive, be myself.”

(On start to the game): "It was awful. We are playing awful and I am clearly not doing my job for this team and I am serious. I am not trying to take a bullet for the team and I told them that. I said we have to find something where all 12 guys play the same way."

(On team): We did it for three games in a stretch. I told them that Game 4 and Game 5 in that winning streak were garbage. We just won the game so I have to figure that out because I do not think the guys are honest with each other. I just do not think we are committed to being a good basketball team."

(On six-game winning streak): "I do not know if we need changes. I am saying if we do not get it right then we may. The six-game winning streak was great. Three of those six we played tremendous basketball and the other three we won the game."

(On playing injured): "I do not really know. Doc (Rivers) told me right before the game I was going and I just went out there and tried to compete."

(On playing padded up): "I had double pads on just in case I got hit while I was in the game."

(On playing through pain): "Just knowing that it (pads) is there with the pain, it was hard but stuff like that happens throughout the game and I just have to fight through it."
