Pelicans vs. Kings: Postgame Notes 11/25/14

  • New Orleans was held to 7-23 (.304) shooting from the floor in the first quarter, including just 1-6 (.167) from long range, while Sacramento was 11-21 (.524). Only two of the nine Pelican players that saw action in the first quarter shot at least .400 from the floor.
  • Kings head coach Michael Malone was ejected at the 4:42 mark of the second quarter after receiving two technical fouls.
  • Trailing 30-60 early in the 2nd quarter, New Orleans outscored Sacramento 33-19 through the remainder of the quarter to tie the game at 49.
  • The Pelicans out-rebounded the Kings 16-6 in the second quarter. New Orleans also tallied eight offensive rebounds in the frame, helping lead to 10 second-chance points – Sacramento was held to zero.
  • Tyreke Evans and Ryan Anderson combined for 19 of New Orleans’ 33 2nd quarter points, scoring 10 (5-8 FG) and nine points (4-5 FG, 1-1 3FG), respectively.
  • Inserted into the starting lineup for the injured Rudy Gay, Omri Casspi registered a season-high 22 points on 9-14 (.642) shooting from the field for the Kings.
  • Anthony Davis was held to just 14 points on 4-12 (.333) shooting from the field and nine rebounds.
