Arturas Karnisovas Receives Seton Hall's "Most Distinguished Alumnus" Award

Denver Nuggets Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas will be honored with other Seton Hall University alumni at the 2016 “Many Are One” Alumni Awards Gala tonight. Karnisovas will be receiving the Most Distinguished Alumnus Award, which is “the most prestigious alumni award given by the University who has been recognized as an outstanding leader in his or her professional field,” according to a release by the school. He attended Seton Hall from 1990-94.

Karnisovas, 44, just completed his third season with the Nuggets after being named the assistant general manager in 2013. He assists general manager Tim Connelly and team president Josh Kroenke with day-to-day operations related to scouting and player personnel.

He joined Denver after five years with the Houston Rockets where he started as the Director of Global Scouting in 2008. Prior to working in the NBA, Karnisovas played pro ball internationally for Barcelona, Bologna, Olympiakos and Athens and was honored as FIBA’s European Player of the Year in 1996. He also helped his native Lithuania win two Olympic bronze medals in 1992 and 1996.
