Austin “Paws The Music” Pawelka is a Mile High City native and Denver Nuggets aficionado through and through. He first stepped on the court and into the spotlight in 2003, announcing starting lineups with energy hard to grasp coming from the likes of an eight-year-old. Finding his passion in entertainment and following the footsteps of his father Shawn Martinez, also known as DJ Tribal Touch, Pawelka further immersed himself in the world of music and sports.

Pawelka graduated from Columbine High School, attended Metro State University, and has blossomed in his career as a Colorado-favorite DJ and artist. He has been committed to the Nuggets organization since day one, solidifying his role as the Official Denver Nuggets Team DJ beginning in the 2018-2019 season. PawS will celebrate 18 years with the organization this year.

Pawelka, known best in Ball Arena as “Paws the Music” or just “Paws,” creates a dynamic in-arena experience with the lively and loud atmosphere known to the Mile High City. Look forward to his custom dribble-up beats, witty sound effects, attention to detail and selection, and of course, the occasional dance move on the Jumbotron. Working hand-in-hand with dancers, choreographers, in-arena hosts, and more, Paws and the Nuggets Game Presentation have hosted some of EDM’s biggest names for halftime and post-game concerts.

Paws has also played alongside the likes of Tiesto, Machine Gun Kelly, Illenium, Shaquille O’Neal, and many more, not only in Ball Arena but in venues like Red Rocks, The Gorge, and various hot-spot nightclubs and venues across the country.

During the NBA’s historic restart during the 2020 season, the Nuggets were honored to have Paws representing the team & the NBA in the bubble as one of the 4 official DJs chosen from around the league to be in Orlando.

PawS was also nominated as one of the 2022 NBA All-Star Game DJ’s which took place in Cleveland last February.

Swing by PawS’ DJ booth in section 134 and say hello at any Nuggets home game this season.
