The New York Knicks defeated the Boston Celtics, 97-89, in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas on Friday.

A 31-20 first quarter set the foundation for New York in this wire-to-wire win, closing things out behind a 26-18 second quarter. That 19-point halftime lead was just shy of the team’s 23-point game-high lead. The Knicks shot 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range while holding the Celtics to 44.1 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from distance. New York also outscored the Celtics in fastbreak scoring, 29-16, while outscoring them in the paint, 44-30. The Knicks recorded 22 assists to 14 turnovers, while Boston had 15 assists to 19 turnovers.

The Celtics (1-3) were led by Dalano Banton, who collected 18 points, nine rebounds and two assists. Jay Scrubb led the bench with 16 points, six rebounds and two assists. JD Davison tallied 11 points, two rebounds and four assists, while Jordan Walsh totaled 13 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Charlie Brown Jr. was a top contributor for the Knicks (2-2), compiling 27 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals. Trevor Keels accrued 20 points, three rebounds and three assists. Isaiah Roby registered 17 points, five rebounds and two assists, while Jalen Harris had 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals.
