7 Reasons To Know The Hawks' Preseason Schedule

The Atlanta Hawks released their 2015 preseason schedule Monday, which features 5 games against playoff teams from last season.  Here are 7 reasons why you'll want to pay attention:

1)  Your first look at players wearing the new uniforms

The Hawks' first game in the brand new uniforms will be Oct. 7 against the Cavaliers in Cincinnati.  Another well-known item of note for that game: It's a rematch of the Eastern Conference Finals.

2)  Fans in south Georgia will be close

Atlanta's second preseason game is against the Pelicans in Jacksonville, just 30 miles from the Georgia border.  Hawks fans who live in south Georgia may not be able to make it to Philips Arena routinely, but this is a nice option to see the team in person.

3)  Your first look at the new court

The Hawks open the home portion of the preseason schedule Oct. 14 against the San Antonio Spurs, which doubles as your first chance to check out the new court in person.  The Hawks will also debut their new home uniforms that night.

4)  Old friends reunite in Texas

The Hawks travel to Dallas for a date with the Mavericks Oct. 16, which means a matchup with former Hawks Zaza Pachulia and John Jenkins.

5)  No Falcons conflicts

A Sunday home game against the Miami Heat Oct. 18 won't keep you from watching our neighbors play football.  The Falcons have a Thursday night game against the Saints that week, meaning your Sunday is free.

6)  One last chance

Your final opportunity to see the Hawks in action comes Oct. 21 against the always-contending Memphis Grizzlies.  The Hawks will have to trim the roster down to no more than 15 before the regular season, so it could be your final look at a few players.

7)  Opening night preview

Atlanta closes the preseason schedule in Detroit against the Pistons Oct. 23.  Four days later, the teams will meet again in Atlanta on Opening Night.
