Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the full slate of events for Marc Gasol’s jersey retirement ceremony, presented by FedEx, on Saturday, April 6. The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive a Commemorative Vinyl Record honoring Gasol. Tickets for the game vs. the Philadelphia 76ers at 7 p.m. CT are still available for purchase by going online to grizzlies.com/tickets.
MARC GASOL DOCUMENTARY
Festivities tip-off on Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m. CT, with the digital release of the new Marc Gasol documentary film, Marc Gasol: Memphis Made, produced by Grind City Media. The full-length documentary, which will be available on the Grizzlies YouTube Channel, chronicles Gasol’s journey in Memphis as a teenager through his return, and includes every game-winning strut, 3-pointer, block and highlight that defined both Grit ‘N Grind and the city of Memphis. Marc Gasol: Memphis Made, will premiere an exclusive invite-only, in-theatre event for a limited number of MVP Season Ticket Members before the public release.
Fans wanting a behind-the-scenes look at how the film was created can tune in immediately after for the “Making of Marc Gasol: Memphis Made” on the Grind City Media YouTube Channel and GrindCityMedia.com. Led by Grind City Media’s Jessica Benson, the show will include a roundtable discussion featuring Grind City Media’s Chris Vernon, the film’s director Michael Blevins, and the Daily Memphian’s Chris Herrington.
A FULL NIGHT CELEBRATING MARC
The celebration of Gasol gets started early on April 6 with a pregame party on the Big River Steel Plaza beginning at 5 p.m., featuring a live performance from Corey Lou & Da Village, inflatable games, and more.
In-game musical tributes begin with the National Anthem performed by Lausanne Collegiate School Singers, Gasol’s high school alma mater. Additional in-game musical performances include a myriad of Memphis artists and Gasol favorites featuring DJ Paul, 8 Ball & MJG, Al Kapone and others. Grizz Nation will also be able to enjoy their favorite Marc Gasol ingame video skits, highlights and congratulations videos as the Grizzlies celebrate the guest of honor throughout the night. Additionally, there will be commemorative special edition Gasol and “Core 4” tees and jerseys available in the Grizzlies Den at FedExForum, starting Friday, April 5.

Immediately following the game, Gasol’s jersey retirement ceremony, presented by FedEx, will begin and air live on Bally Sports Southeast and Bally Sports+. Hosted by Pete Pranica, Brevin Knight and Rob Fischer, the ceremony will feature special guests including Pau Gasol, Zach Randolph, Tony Allen, and more from Gasol’s career. A special tribute video and musical performances will also be featured throughout the ceremony.
