Grizzlies sign Dejon Jarreau and Maozinha Pereira to 10-day contracts

The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the team signed guard DeJon Jarreau to a second 10-day contract and wing Maozinha Pereira (mao-zi-nha puh-rehr-uh) to a 10-day contract. Per team policy, terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Jarreau (6-5, 185) has appeared in five games as a reserve for the Grizzlies and has averaged 5.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.0 steals in 17.6 minutes since signing his first 10-day contract on March 10 as a Call-Up from the NBA G League’s Memphis Hustle. The 26-year-old averaged 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 29.7 minutes in 24 regular season games (18 starts) for the Hustle before his Call-Up, including 11 double-doubles and a franchise-record four triple-doubles. 

A native of New Orleans, Jarreau went unselected in the 2021 NBA Draft following his senior year at Houston. He made his NBA debut with the Indiana Pacers during the 2021-22 season and has played 65 NBA G League showcase and regular season games for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Texas Legends, Capital City Go-Go and Hustle.

Pereira (6-8, 177) has appeared in 40 showcase and regular season games (19 starts) for the NBA G League’s Mexico City Capitanes and has averaged 10.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks in 23.5 minutes while shooting 62.8 percent from the field. The 23-year-old has recorded 14 double-doubles for the Capitanes.

A native of Rio de Janeiro, Pereira played the 2022-23 season for the São Paulo-based Corinthians of the Brazilian NBB, where he averaged 11.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 29.0 minutes in 32 games (25 starts) while shooting 64.7 percent from the field. He went unselected in the 2022 NBA Draft.
