Grizzlies defeat Bucks, 111-101

The Memphis Grizzlies (26-50) defeated the Milwaukee Bucks (47-29) 111-101 on Wednesday to finish 2-1 on their three-game road trip. The Grizzlies swept the season series with the Bucks 2-0 this season. 

One game after scoring 40 points in fuel a double-digit comeback over Detroit, Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 25 of his 35 points in the second half against Milwaukee. GG Jackson II registered a double-double with 15 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Brandon Clarke scored 14 points and seven rebounds and Jordan Goodwin notcheda double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds to go with seven assists off the bench for the Grizzlies. 

Brook Lopez posted a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 21 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Bobby Portis contributed points 19 points and seven rebounds off the bench. 

The Grizzlies went on a 9-3 run to end the first quarter and grab a 26-22 advantage. After both teams battled back-and-forth during the second quarter Milwaukee led 46-40 with 3:38 left in the half. The Grizzlies answered by mounting a 13-3 run and grabbing a 53-49 lead at the intermission. 

The Bucks led 69-59 with 6:25 left in the third quarter before the Grizzlies scored nine straight points as part of an 18-3 run to grab a 77-72 lead with 1:09 left in the period. Jackson Jr. later scored the final seven points of a 9-0 Memphis run to grab a 98-90 lead with 4:17 left in the game.

Memphis shot 50.5 percent and outscored Milwaukee 76-36 in the paint in what was the team’s fifth straight win in the overall series.

The Grizzlies return to FedExForum to face the Detroit Pistons at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, April 5. The game will be broadcast on Bally Sports Southeast and 92.9 FM ESPN.
