L.A. Clippers Acquire Forward Maurice Harkless

The L.A. Clippers acquired forward Maurice Harkless and a protected 2023 first-round pick as part of a four-team trade, it was announced today by President of Basketball Operations, Lawrence Frank.

Harkless, 26, appeared in 60 games for the Portland Trail Blazers last season, where he averaged career highs in rebounds (4.5) and assists (1.2) while scoring 7.7 points in 23.6 minutes. Initially selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 15th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of St. John’s, Harkless spent three seasons with the Orlando Magic before being acquired by the Trail Blazers in 2015. Harkless is also a member of the Puerto Rican National Team. He averaged 15.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in his one collegiate season with the Red Storm.
