Aussies Top Czechs, Move On To Semifinals vs. Spain

The 2019 FIBA World Cup continued on Wednesday morning with Matthew Dellavedova and Team Australia winning their sixth-straight game after topping the Czech Republic, 82-70. The Boomers will move on to the World Cup semifinals this Friday when they take on Team Spain in Shanghai.

Cavaliers

Team Australia continued their romp through international competition on Wednesday morning, winning their sixth-straight win after topping the Czech Republic, 82-70, at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center in Shanghai, China. The Boomers shot a rock-solid 48 percent from the floor against the Czechs while also canning 11 treys in four quarters of action. They also outrebounded their opponents, 41-34, and out-assisted them, 21-19.

Delly had yet another well-rounded performance, posting nine points, five boards and three dimes in just over 30 minutes of action on Wednesday. Fellow guard, Patty Mills, led both squads in scoring with 24 points on 9-15 shooting. Two other players scored in double figures for the Aussies, including Chris Goulding (14) and Andrew Bogut (10).

For Czechia, Patrik Auda was the squad's top scorer with 21 points, including a perfect 3-3 from downtown. Chicago Bulls swingman Tomas Satoransky tallied a double-double in his squad's final World Cup game with 13 points and 13 assists.

Going forward, Delly and Team Australia will move on to the semifinals this Friday where they'll meet another undefeated team in Spain. Both squads will vie for a spot in the Gold Medal match, which takes place on Sunday, September 15th.
