The 80th edition of the NBA Draft is now less than a week away, and the Cavaliers will be on the clock when the 29th overall pick rolls around as the First Round wraps up on Tuesday night.

Fresh off their first run to the Eastern Conference Finals since 2018, the Wine and Gold will look to add even more firepower to their roster – whether it’s beefing up in the middle or adding youth to a Hall of Fame backcourt.

As the big day approaches, here’s a short list of prospects who the Cavs Brass could consider when the moment of truth arrives …

One of the 2026 NCAA Tournament’s top performers, averaging 19.5 ppg, 13.2, on 54 percent shooting; viewed as a plug-and-play big man at the next level; has a polished offensive game with go-to moves; a physically-imposing bruiser in the post who can carve out space; can dominate the offensive glass; great hands and excellent footwork.

Sergio de Larrea, G, Spain – (6-6, 178)

Lanky Spaniard plays with veteran pace – described as “an old man’s game” – despite being just 20 years old; has excellent vision, creativity and an innate feel for the game; played with Valencia in the Euroleague; very good size for a point guard, 6-6 with a 6-9 wingspan; consistent long-range shooter, connected on 40 percent from three-point in each of his last two seasons; never gets sped up, plays with a calming pace; will need to add weight and muscle at the next level.

Baba Miller, PF/C, Cincinnati – (7-0, 210)

International big man who played with Real Madrid in 2021-22, moved stateside and spent separate seasons at Florida Atlantic and Florida State before finishing at Cincinnati; was named Second Team All-Big 12; explosive seven-footer with a 9-3 wingspan; fluid athlete for his size, but not a major defensive presence despite his size; good floor vision, averaged an impressive 3.7 assists last year at Cincinnati; scouts are intrigued by his size and athleticism but concerned with his lack of consistency.

Ebuka Okorie, PG, Stanford – (6-2, 185)

Was handed the keys as a 19-year-old point guard at Stanford and became one of the nation’s most polished freshman; cerebral kid – was going to attend Harvard before switching to Stanford; excellent ball handler who pressures defenses relentlessly; good decision-maker – 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio; will need to improve from outside, shot 35 percent from deep; mature prospect with NBA-ready basketball IQ; might need to adjust aggressiveness at the pro level and lacks ideal size, but with fascinating upside.

Meleek Thomas, G, Arkansas – (6-4, 190)

The Razorbacks “other” guard reportedly posted some solid recent workouts that pushed him into the first round; a true combo guard who played point in high school before Arkansas; has good size, outstanding scoring ability and flashed improved defense as the year progressed; effective shooter – 42 percent from three-point range, 84 percent from the line – with very good handle; has “instant offense” scoring mentality; has tremendous burst, plays with “pace, urgency and purpose” although can be a little out of control at times; intriguing defensive upside, averaged 1.5 steals per game

Joshua Jefferson, SF, Iowa State – (6-9, 245)

One of the most versatile players in college ball – averaged at least 16.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals for the Cyclones last year; a smart, efficient, solid defender who can likely fit into any NBA scheme; exceptionally high basketball IQ and excellent decision-maker (2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio); well-rounded skillset with pro-ready physique; consistent, tough rebounder who continues to improve as a shooter; not an elite or explosive athlete or true rim-protector, but has a way of impacting winning beyond scoring and can contribute without high usage.

Highly-decorated high school athlete with great physical attributes who’s built more like a tight end; might have cost himself by reportedly struggled shooting the ball at the Combine; has an NBA-ready body at just 19 years old; despite impressive physique; not a top-level athlete, lacks vertical explosiveness; plays an Instinctive game; efficient scorer – shot 54 percent from the floor (but just 61 percent from the stripe) and still a work in progress from long-range – shot 32 percent from deep; an effective passer in the high post; brings winning pedigree and leadership qualities to any team that selects him.
