Trail Blazers Guards Shaedon Sharpe And Scoot Henderson Named 2024 Panini Rising Stars Participants

PORTLAND, Ore. (Jan. 30, 2024) – The NBA today announced that Shaedon Sharpe and Scoot Henderson have been selected to participate in the 2024 Panini Rising Stars game.

In 32 games this season (25 starts), Sharpe is averaging 15.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 0.9 steals in 33.1 minutes per game. Among NBA sophomores, he ranks second in 3PM per game (1.9), third in points per game (15.9), eighth in assists per game (2.9) and eighth in steals per game (0.9). Sharpe became the youngest player in franchise history to reach 1,000 career points (20 years, 171 days) on Nov. 17 vs. the Lakers. His five consecutive games with 24-plus points from Nov. 30-Dec. 11 marked his longest streak of games with at least 24 points in his career. On Nov. 30 at Cleveland, he notched his first career double-double with a team-high 29 points (11-15 FG, 4-7 3-PT, 3-3 FT) and a career-high 10 rebounds to go along with five assists.

Earning his third Panini Rising Stars selection, Henderson has recorded 12.2 points, 4.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 26.4 minutes per game in 38 games this season (15 starts). Among NBA rookies, he ranks first in assists per game (4.6) and fifth in points per game (12.2), while leading all rookies for the most games with 15-plus points and five-plus assists (8) and the most games with double-digit assists (4). Henderson is the only rookie this season who has logged 20-plus points and 10-plus assists in a game, and he has done so twice (Dec. 29, Dec. 14). On Jan. 14 vs. Phoenix, he became just the sixth rookie in NBA history to post 33 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals in a game and was the first rookie to do so since Stephen Curry in 2010.

The 2024 Panini Rising Stars game will take place on Friday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. PT at NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
