Trail Blazers Convert Skylar Mays To Standard NBA Contact

PORTLAND, Ore. (Nov. 12, 2023) – The Portland Trail Blazers have converted the two-way contract of guard Skylar Mays to a standard NBA contract, it was announced today by General Manager Joe Cronin. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mays has played in seven games with Portland this season, averaging 6.1 points, 2.7 assists and 0.9 steals in 14.2 minutes per game. After signing a 10-day contract with the Trail Blazers last season on March 30, he appeared in six games (all starts) and recorded 15.3 points (50.0% FG, 46.2% 3-PT, 92.3% FT), 3.2 rebounds, 8.3 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.5 minutes per game. In 74 career games (11 starts) with Portland and Atlanta, he has accrued career averages of 4.6 points (46.5% FG, 34.6% 3-PT, 90.6% FT), 1.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 10.5 minutes per game. Prior to joining the Trail Blazers, Mays spent the 2022-23 G League season with the Mexico City Capitanes and Delaware Blue Coats, where in 47 total games (26 starts) he posted 13.7 points (41.2% FG, 30.1% 3-PT, 84.6% FT), 3.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 0.8 steals in 27.5 minutes per game during the Showcase Cup and regular season.
