David Long

Vice President, Digital and Innovation

David Long enters his eighth season with the Portland Trail Blazers and Rose Quarter and his first season as Vice President of Digital and Innovation after being promoted to the role in August 2023. In his role, David drives digital solutions for the organization while overseeing all digital marketing ventures, including ticket sales, retail, brand awareness, concert/event sales and marketing, and more. 

His team drives dynamic transformations within the organization to propel the business to new heights during the ever-evolving digital age. They spearhead both incremental enhancements and foundational shifts that position the company for enduring success while orchestrating paid media and marketing automation strategies that bolster online presence, maximize engagement and drive revenue. Long’s oversight also extends to the digital products division, where he leads the team responsible for flagship websites, user-centric app, and captivating digital fan experiences within Moda Center.  

Long joined the organization in 2016 and has worked in various roles within the digital marketing space, joining as a Digital Marketing Specialist before moving on to Digital Marketing Manager and most recently serving as Director of Digital Marketing and Innovation. Prior to his time with the Trail Blazers, Long spent seven years with a Portland-based marketing agency, where he started their digital division. He also serves as a guest lecturer at Warsaw Business School and was the recipient of the 2022-23 Individual Tickets Award from the NBA League Office. The Trail Blazers were also named as one of the Top 25 Most innovative teams in the world by Sports Innovation Lab.

An Oregonian who grew up in Corvallis and graduated from the University of Oregon, David appreciates the uniqueness and beauty of the Pacific Northwest. He lives in the SE Portland area with his wife, daughter, son and dog.
