Trail Blazers Continue Sustainability Advocacy with New Web Platform, Unveil Green Game Schedule

Throughout this season, the Portland Trail Blazers will highlight five different areas of sustainability, one per month, to engage fans in the organization’s efforts to reduce its environmental footprint. A new web site featuring additional information about the organization’s ongoing commitment to sustainability can be found at www.trailblazers.com/live.

“As an organization, we are dedicated to impacting kids and families in our region where they live, learn and play. ‘Live’ is our long-term commitment to the environment,” said Christa Stout, Vice President of Social Responsibility. “We are sharing information about what we are doing at the Moda Center, our 2025 goals, and encouraging partners, fans and employees to help us on our journey to be more sustainable for future generations.”

In an effort to enhance their environmental education initiative and promote fan engagement, the Trail Blazers are announcing five Green Games representing five areas of sustainability – energy, waste, food, water and transportation. The first Green Game, with a sustainability focus on energy, is set for Dec. 3 when the team plays host to the Indiana Pacers.

During each Green Game, Trail Blazers players will wear pregame shooting shirts to help raise awareness for the team’s sustainability goals. Each Green Game will also feature a special edition Portland water bottle from Liberty Bottleworks as the retail “Item of the Game” available only that night, as well as other activations throughout the evening.

The Trail Blazers are asking fans to join the organization in its efforts to be more environmentally conscious and to help reach the ambitious impact goals for the next 10 years. Below is a chart featuring the Green Game schedule, current efforts in sustainability and goals for the year 2025.

With the help of its fans, the Trail Blazers organization is committed to making a bigger difference with a smaller environmental footprint.
