Get ready for the FIBA Basketball World Cup with a team-by-team breakdown of the 32 countries in the competition.

Placed at No. 26 in the FIBA World Ranking, New Zealand punched its ticket to the 2023 World Cup in the Asian Qualifiers last summer. The Tall Blacks will be playing in their sixth consecutive World Cup and will look to recapture the magic of their 2002 World Cup run — the only time they’ve ever finished in the top four.

What to Watch

Corey Webster, 34, has been a fixture in New Zealand professional basketball for well over a decade, including long stints in the Australian and New Zealand NBL. Webster has also been a member of the New Zealand national team since 2008 and should play a pivotal role in the Tall Blacks’ attack.
