2023 FIBA World Cup

FIBA World Cup Team Profile: Jordan

Get ready for the FIBA Basketball World Cup with a team-by-team breakdown of the 32 countries in the competition.

The No. 33 ranked team in the FIBA World Rankings is making its second consecutive World Cup appearance and third overall. Jordan finally hopes to break through in this year’s World Cup after seeing little Group Stage success in past years — they’ve notched just one Group Stage win in their two previous appearances. This year’s squad has a chance to right the ship, as it features many battle-tested veterans who’ve played in their fair share of World Cup games.

What to Watch

Former G League standout Dar Tucker will help lead the charge for Jordan, along with point guard Freddy Ibrahim. Tucker has sustained a long international career after a successful stint in the G League during the early 2010s, which included winning the G League Most Improved Player award in 2011. Ibrahim is considered to be one of the best players in the Jordanian Premier League and proved to be a steadying presence for Jordan throughout qualifiers.
