Bulls among 24 teams to compete at NBA Summer League

A record 24 teams will compete at the 2012 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas this summer, the NBA announced Thursday. From July 13- 22, 23 NBA teams, including 11 that participated in the NBA Playoffs, as well as a team of NBA D-League Select players will compete at the Thomas & Mack Center and the COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Deng named to All-Defensive Second Team

With six first place votes, eight second place votes and 20 total points, Bulls forward Luol Deng joins Kevin Garnett, Tyson Chandler, Rajon Rondo and Kobe Bryant on the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. Joining LeBron James on the NBA All-Defensive First Team are Serge Ibaka, Chris Paul, Tony Allen and Dwight Howard.

Gibson named to USA Men's Select Team

Bulls forward Taj Gibson is among 13 players selected by USA Basketball for the 2012 USA Men’s Select Team that will train against the 2012 USA Basketball Men’s National Team during its July 6-12 training camp in Las Vegas, Nev.

Bulls optimistic, hopeful for complete Rose recovery

Blogs.Bulls.com: Not only was the surgery to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in Derrick Rose’s left knee a success, the Bulls head team physician believes last season’s NBA MVP is very capable of returning to his pre-injury level of play. “It’s impossible to predict tomorrow,” said Dr. Brian Cole. “Statistically, he should be that player and then some."
