Wizards Name Connelly Assistant Director of Player Personnel

“Tim has done a terrific job for this organization for several years as a scout and has established himself as a top evaluator of basketball talent,” said Grunfeld. “He will continue to provide valuable input to our basketball operations staff.”

Prior to this promotion, Connelly was a scout for the Wizards, responsible for identifying collegiate talent in the United States as well as scouting international leagues in Europe. The Baltimore native began working for the Wizards as an intern in the basketball operations department in 1996. After graduating from Catholic University in 1999, Connelly was named to the Wizards scouting staff as Assistant Video Coordinator, then became a full-time scout for the Wizards in 2000.

Connelly comes from a family very involved in the game of basketball. His brother Joe coached prep and AAU basketball in Baltimore for several years while his brother Pat is a graduate assistant to the basketball team at Baylor University. Connelly's youngest brother Daniel is a team manager at Florida State University.
