Despite a 20-2 second half run which cut a 21 point deficit to three, the Wizards fell in the finale of their road trip to Utah, 92-88.
The Wizards offense started off slow as they shot under 30% in the first half on their way to 38 points and a 14 point deficit. That lead would swell all the way to 21 after an Al Jefferson jumper with 2:27 to play in the third quarter. Over the next five and a half minutes, the Wizards would go on the aforementioned 20-2 run to cut that lead to 3. During the run, the Wizards went 7/11 from the field as well as 4/4 from the line. Over the final nine minutes, the Wizards would cut it to as close to two, but could never get over the hurdle to take the lead and wound up falling by four points.
The game was a tough shooting one for the Wizards as for the first time on the road trip they shot under 40%. Four Wizards finished in double figures with Martell Webster leading with 15 points. John Wall had 14 points and 8 assists, Beal had 11 and Price had 10. Okafor grabbed 17 rebounds, one off of his season high. The Jazz had six finish in double figures, led by a 16 points, 15 rebound effort from Paul Millsap.
The Wizards finished the tough west coast trip at 2-3 and now get to head home for three in a row. They'll start with Minnesota on Friday night at 7pm.
