Suns to Broadcast from New TV Set Beginning Tonight

Phoenix Suns television broadcasts will take on a new look beginning tonight with the team’s pregame, halftime and postgame shows being produced from a freshly renovated studio at Arizona State’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism in downtown Phoenix.

The new set, which has been home to Suns’ away-game broadcasts for the past four seasons, now sports a modern, tech-friendly feel including three 70-inch HD monitors and energy efficient color changeable LED accent lighting. The studio was designed by Southwest Scenic, a Tempe-based company who also built the club’s original set 23 years ago.

In celebration of tonight’s launch, the Suns will host a social media promotion where fans are encouraged to tweet a selfie to @Suns that includes tonight’s pre, post or halftime show in the background. One lucky fan will be selected at random to become an Honorary Member of the Suns Broadcast Team for the Suns-Miami Heat game on January 8 at Talking Stick Resort Arena. The fan and a guest will join the broadcast team for their pregame planning meeting, receive a tour of the TV truck and go behind the scenes with the Suns pregame show, prior to enjoying the game.

The Suns pregame, halftime and postgame shows feature Ring of Honor member Tom Chambers and broadcaster Tom Leander, with occasional in-studio appearances by former Suns guard Casey Jacobsen. The Suns are in Dallas this evening for a matchup with the Mavericks. The FOX Sports Arizona pregame show begins at 6 p.m.
