Suns Player of the Week (Feb. 2 - Feb. 8)

Every Monday, Suns.com's Matt Petersen hands out his Suns Player of the Week award based on the previous seven-day stretch. Stats are always a good indicator, but other factors can also come into play (intangible impact, game-swinging spurts, etc.). The runner-up is also included because often, that second guy's impact was just as impressive as the first's.

Player of the Week — Eric Bledsoe

Bledsoe's Steal

It's safe to say that Eric Bledsoe's presence could have prevented Sunday night's heart-rending loss. As it was, the fifth-year guard still had a good week even after missing the final game for the birth of his second child.

In three games, Bledsoe turned in 17.7 points, 6.0 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per contest while shooting a scalding 62.5 percent from three. That's hardly a aberration. The 6-1 guard has hit at least one three in each of his last 14 games.

Runner-Up Player of the Week — Isaiah Thomas

Thomas Lob to Wright

Thomas nearly pulled the Suns out of the fire on Sunday, scoring 12 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter. It was much the same manner in which he began the week: a 24-point performance off the bench against Memphis.

The 5-9 guard is making a serious run at the Sixth Man of the Year award. Among regular reserves, Thoams is second in the league in scoring at 15.0 points per contest (39.4 3FG%) off the bench.
