Wiggins was the first-overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cavaliers before being traded to the Timberwolves in exchange for Kevin Love. As a rookie, Wiggins averaged 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game and was named the league's Rookie of the Year. In the 2015 Rising Stars Challenge, he was named the MVP after scoring 22 points for Team World. In five seasons in the league, Wiggins has averaged 19.4 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. In 2018-19, Wiggins had 29 games with 20 or more points and hit 40 points in the team's win over the Thunder on Jan. 8, 2019. Wiggins ranks second in team history in points scored and is tied for first in 3-pointers made.
As a freshman at Kansas in 2013-14, Wiggins averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field. He was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, a First-team All-Big 12 member and a consensus second-team All-American. In 2013, he was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year and Mr. Basketabll USA.
