PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Wiggins was the first-overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Cavaliers before being traded to the Timberwolves in exchange for Kevin Love. As a rookie, Wiggins averaged 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game and was named the league's Rookie of the Year. In the 2015 Rising Stars Challenge, he was named the MVP after scoring 22 points for Team World. With the Warriors, Wiggins has appeared in 35 playoff games (34 starts), averaging 16.6 points (.465 FG%, .320 3P%, .661 FT%), 6.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals in 34.5 minutes per game in two playoffs (2022, 2023). Wiggins was named to his first All-Star game (as a starter) and won a championship with the Warriors in 2022.

BEFORE NBA

As a freshman at Kansas in 2013-14, Wiggins averaged 17.1 points, 5.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 44.8 percent from the field. He was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, a First-team All-Big 12 member and a consensus second-team All-American. In 2013, he was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year and Mr. Basketabll USA.

PERSONAL LIFE

Born on Feb. 23, 1995 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada... Father, Mitchell, played collegiately at Florida State and for six seasons in the NBA with Chicago, Houston and Philadelphia... Mother, Marita, was a track star at FSU and competed for Canada in the 1984 and 1988 Olympics... Averaged 24.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.7 blocks for Huntington (W.Va.) Prep in 2011-12... Named Naismith High School Player of the Year and Gatorade Athlete of the Year across all high school sports in 2013... Voted by USA Today as the 2013 American Family Insurance All-USA Player of the Year... Started the Andrew Wiggins Foundation, which focuses on supporting youth athletic organizations... As part of its support of the Kia NBA Rookie of the Year Award, Kia Motors America (KMA) donated a 2016 Kia Sorento LX CUV to Rock of Faith Worship Centre in Ontario on Wiggins’ behalf after winning the award in April 2015.
