Player Bio

Corey Jae Crowder was born in 1990 in Villa Rica, Georgia. His father, Corey Crowder, played two seasons in the NBA with the Jazz (1991-92) and the Spurs (1994-95). Crowder has seven siblings. In high school, he was named the 2008 Times-Georgian Co-Player of the Year as a senior at Villa Rica High School, averaging 18.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Crowder was named the Big East Player of the Year for the 2011-12 season. In both seasons for Marquette, he helped lead the Golden Eagles to the NCAA Tournament (2010-11 and 2011-12). Crowder led Marquette in rebounds (8.4) and steals (2.5) per game in the 11-12 season. And the Villa Rica, Georgia native was second on the Golden Eagles in points per game (17.5) in his second season for Marquette. He was also second in the Big East in field-goal percentage (49.8). Crowder then entered the 2012 NBA Draft. Crowder was drafted in the second round (34th overall) by the Cleveland Cavaliers.
