PROFESSIONAL CAREER

After spending 66 games as a two-way player, was signed to an NBA contract on 3/10/19. Scored in double figures twice. On 2/11 vs. Portland, went 7-of-9 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range to record a career-high 18 points and career-best three blocks. On 11/28 vs. Cleveland, didn’t miss a shot in the first half as he finished with eight points, two rebounds, two blocks and the highest +/- rating in the game (+22). On 11/23 vs. Charlotte, led the Thunder bench with a then-career-high 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, two rebounds and two assists. On 11/21 at Golden State, went a perfect 3-for-3 to finish with six points and one assist. On 11/14 vs. New York, produced seven points, four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a block in 12 minutes. Scored his first NBA bucket on 10/21 at Sacramento, tallying five points, a rebound and a block in seven minutes. Made his NBA debut on 10/19 at LA Clippers. Registered 14 DNP – Coach’s Decision. Missed 36 games while on G League assignment.

In 101 games (45 starts), averaged 10.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.1 assists and 1.28 steals in 20.3 minutes, shooting 47.8 percent from the floor and 40.5 percent from three-point range. 2016-17 (Senior): Played and started all 35 games. Tied for second on the team and was ninth in the Big 12 averaging 15.1 points per game. Led the Cyclones and was 11th in the conference with 6.2 rebounds. Also ranked fourth in the Big 12 averaging 1.7 steals per contest. His 2.1 steals per game in league play ranked third. Finished season with 60 steals and 49 blocks, joining Lafester Rhodes as the only players in school history to have at least 40 in both categories in the same season. Just the fourth player in Big 12 history to have 60 steals, 40 blocks and average more than 15 points. First player since Royce White (2011- 12) to lead ISU in both steals and blocks. Scored his 1,000th collegiate point (Iowa State and Marquette) against West Virginia in Big 12 Championship. Also grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds against the Horned Frogs for his first double-double. 2014-15 (Sophomore): Played in eight games at Marquette before transferring to Iowa State at the end of first semester. Averaged 6.4 points and 2.0 rebounds. Shot 47.2 percent from the field and 40 percent behind the arc. Grabbed 10 steals. 2013-14 (Freshman): Attended Marquette, where he earned BIG EAST All-Rookie team honors after averaging 6.9 points in 32 career games. Made three starts. Shot 47.8 percent from the field, hitting 4-of-8 three-point attempts. Scored a season-high 23 points against Xavier. Had 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting against San Diego State. Was in double figures in final four games of the season and 13 games overall.

PERSONAL LIFE

Son of Charles Burton and the late Barbara Burton-Malone. Has five brothers (Demario Burton, Omar Burton, Charles Grafton, Prentiss Grafton and Keylow Rogers) and one sister (Nicole Grafton). Started his charity Pink Legacy for breast cancer awareness in honor of his mother. Favorite movie is “The Five Heartbeats.” Enjoys writing poetry and if he wasn’t playing basketball, would be a writer.
