Full name is Derrick Labrent Jones, Jr…nickname is “Airplane Mode”…is the son of Derrick, Sr. and Otiesse Jones…has one brother (Lakeem) and two sisters (Dej’sha and On’Jesha)…has three sons (Derrick Jones III, Princeton and Roman)…when his playing career is over he would like to coach…his favorite sport other than basketball is bowling…when he’s not playing basketball he enjoys going bowling, going to Topgolf and spending time at the mall…finished his high school career as the leading scorer in Archbishop John Carroll H.S. history with 1,645 career points…was named the Southeastern Pennsylvania Player of the Year, the Delaware County Player of the Year, the PIAA Triple-A Player of the Year and First-Team All-Catholic League after averaging 19.2 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.3 blocks as a senior…helped the Patriots to the finals of the state tournament after posting 30 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks in the semifinals…was named the Best Dunker in the country in the class of 2015 and won the slam dunk contest at the American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championship in Carmel, Ind., on Apr. 1, 2015…wears size 14 sneakers.
