INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers Youth Basketball Program will once again bring its very popular, week-long "Pacers Summer Hoops Tour" to five Central Indiana locations for a week in July. The clinic, presented by McDonald's® of Central Indiana and Gatorade, is free to children but is limited to the first 125 registered participants at each site.
The "Pacers Summer Hoops Tour," slated to run the week of July 18-22, will provide opportunities for boys and girls, ages 6 to 14, to participate and learn concepts involving the sport of basketball. The clinics will be conducted by Pacers ABA legend Darnell "Dr. Dunk" Hillman and local instructors who will focus on helping the campers improve their skills and develop their overall games by teaching basic practice drills and emphasizing fundamentals.
Additional features of the clinics include a t-shirt for all participants; prizes and Pacers giveaways; lunch; small group instruction; competitive games, and visits from Pacers personalities. Registration begins online at www.Pacers.com on Monday, May 16, with a deadline to register of July 8. Each camp will run from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
Each year the camp moves to different areas of the state. This year the Pacers Hoops Tour will visit Westfield, Greensburg, Indianapolis and Avon. Both Gatorade and McDonald's plan to provide wholesome food and drink options to the children participating in the Pacers clinics.
