Benner to be Inducted into Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association Hall of Fame

Another member of the Pacers Sports & Entertainment family is joining the Indiana Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association (ISSA). The ISSA announced on Tuesday that Bill Benner, currently the Sr. Vice President of Corporate/Community & Public Relations at PS&E, is one of six members of its 2017 Hall of Fame class.

Benner spent over 30 years writing for the Indianapolis Star & News, covering the Pacers, the Hoosiers, and eventually the Colts. Bill became a columnist in 1990, remaining in that role through 2001. Bill also covered Final Fours, Olympic games, and any major sporting event to grace the Circle City.

Benner is the third Pacers Sports & Entertainment employee to earn induction into the ISSA in recent years. Pacers radio broadcaster Mark Boyle was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013, while Pacers and Fever television broadcaster Chris Denari was honored last year.

Benner will be inducted into the ISSA Hall of Fame at the organization's annual awards banquet on Sunday, April 9 at Valle Vista Golf Club in Greenwood.
