But in 1989, the NBA Draft was condensed to just two rounds, a format that has been in place ever since. While plenty of second round draft picks never end up playing in the league, teams can still often find diamonds in the rough with their second round draft selections, like the Pacers did in 1990 by selecting Antonio Davis with the 45th overall pick.
