Suns' Bradley Beal (back) out at least 3 weeks

The Suns' guard last played on Nov. 12 and has been dealing with a back injury all season.

Bradley Beal has appeared in 3 games for the Suns this season.

The Phoenix Suns will be without star guard Bradley Beal until sometime in December.

Beal is having his lower back strain re-evaluated, the team announced Friday, and will be out for at least the next three weeks. Per the team, the “timeline was determined following further evaluation and consultation on his injury.”

Acquired from Washington in June, the 30-year-old Beal sat out of the first seven games of the season because of a back injury. He made his debut in a 116-115 overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls on Nov. 8 and the next two games before his back injury flared up again.

Beal averaged 22.1 points in 11 seasons with Washington.

Beal’s last game came on Nov. 12, when the Suns lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 111-99. Phoenix has dealt with injuries to two-thirds of its star trio of Beal, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant as both Beal and Booker have missed games. Durant has appeared in all 11 games to date.

In three games with Phoenix this season, Beal is averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.
