Harris, 35, has played nine of his 14 NBA seasons with the Mavericks, who were looking for point guard depth once Yogi Ferrell decided to sign with the Sacramento Kings.
A fan favorite in Dallas, Harris averaged 8.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists last season while with the Denver Nuggets and Mavs.
Harris figures to serve as a mentor Dennis Smith Jr. and rookies Jalen Brunson and Luka Doncic.
