Here are some enticing matchups and key storylines that fans can watch during Friday’s promotion:

1. Race to the No. 1 seed in West

The Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder are heading towards a photo finish for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. This race could come down to the last game of the season.

As of April 8, Minnesota and Denver are tied for the No.1 seed with the Timberwolves holding the tiebreaker. The Thunder sit just a game back from both teams. Currently, Oklahoma City has control of the No. 3 seed.

All three teams will be in action during Friday’s perk. Minnesota takes on the Atlanta Hawks (8:00 ET, League Pass), Nikola Jokic meets Victor Wembanyama as the Nuggets and Spurs battle (8:00 ET, LP), and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren trade buckets with Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo (8:00 PM ET, LP).

2. Phoenix Suns vs. Sacramento Kings (10:30 ET, NBA TV)

The Suns and the Kings are neck and neck in the standings with nearly identical records. Both teams are fighting with the Pelicans for the No. 6 seed and to avoid the 2024 SoFI NBA Play-In Tournament.

These three teams are also fighting each other for either home-court advantage for the Play-In, or to avoid a matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers or Golden State Warriors. Huge seeding implications are on the line in this matchup.

In their last matchup, the Suns defeated the Kings 130-125. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker combined for 53 points to overcome Domantas Sabonis‘ monster triple-double (35 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists) and De’Aaron Fox‘s 40-point explosion.

3. Brooklyn Nets vs. New York Knicks (7:30 PM ET, League Pass)

The battle of the boroughs is always a fun rivalry matchup, especially with the Villanova boys on both sides. Knicks teammates Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo played together at Villanova University, as did their former Wildcat teammate and current Net Mikal Bridges.

The Knicks are currently the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference, but just one game behind the Milwaukee Bucks at the No. 2 spot. The Orlando Magic are No. 3 and own the tiebreaker over New York.

The Magic play the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:00 p.m. ET on League Pass.

With only two games left until the end of the regular season, Friday’s slate has the potential to cause chaos and shake the standings.
