NBA 2K24 Summer League: Hornets beat Wolves in their Summer League finale

Amari Bailey leads all scorers as Charlotte and Minnesota wrap up their time in Las Vegas.

The Hornets defeat the Timberwolves to close out their Summer League play.

The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 109-92, in the NBA 2K24 Summer League at Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday. 

While there were five lead changes in the opening five minutes, the Hornets never relinquished the lead after a 27-21 first quarter. They put things away behind a 33-24 second quarter, maintaining a double-digit lead for the entirety of the second half and getting their lead up to 23 points at times. The Hornets shot 53.4 percent from the field and 44.8 percent from three-point range while holding the Timberwolves to 43.1 percent from the field and 28 percent from long range. Charlotte also out-assisted Minnesota, 34-18. 

The Hornets (1-4) were led by Amari Bailey, who tallied 15 points, three rebounds and three assists. Kobi Simmons collected 13 points, two rebounds and eight assists. Justin Robinson led the bench with 13 points and eight assists. Trevon Scott amassed 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals. 

Wendell Moore, Jr. led the way for the Timberwolves (1-4), amassing 15 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals. Leonard Miller accrued 13 points and seven rebounds. Josh Minott had 13 points, four rebounds and two blocks, while Javonte Cooke led the bench with 13 points and two assists. 

That marks the end of the NBA 2K24 Summer League for both of these teams.
