The Cleveland Cavaliers were crowned champions of the NBA 2K24 Summer League in Las Vegas after defeating the Houston Rockets, 99-78, at Thomas & Mack Center on Monday.
The Cavaliers started the game on fire and routed the Rockets in the first quarter by a 28-14 score, establishing a lead they’d never relinquish and setting the tone for the rest of the game. Even though Houston responded with a 30-23 score in the second quarter, the Cavaliers pulled away for good in the third with a 28-15 score, making it difficult for Houston to erase the deficit and ultimately lifting the Cavaliers to a much-deserved victory and league title.

Isaiah Mobley was the standout performer for the Cavaliers after pacing the team with 28 points and 11 rebounds, while Emoni Bates recorded 19 points, five rebounds and four assists. Sam Merrill scored 27 points, and Craig Porter sniffed a triple-double, delivering eight points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
Nate Hinton was the best player for the Rockets after putting up an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Summer League MVP Cam Whitmore finished with 14 points despite attempting 17 shots. Trevor Hudgins scored 13 points and dished out seven assists, while Fletcher Magee ended with 10 points off the bench.
