San Antonio reportedly waived veteran Gorgui Dieng to create the roster spot for Vonleh.
Vonleh, the former No. 9 overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, is also expected to be waived by San Antonio, per multiple reports. The eighth-year veteran signed a deal with the Celtics last offseason. He played in 23 games for Boston, averaging 1.1 points and 2.1 rebounds in 7.4 minutes.
Dieng appeared in 13 games for the Spurs, averaging 4.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.6 minutes.
